The Florida Department of Revenue answers whether you must file a personal income tax return in Florida with a no: the State does not impose a personal income tax, so there are no filing requirements. You still pay federal tax, and your former state may keep claiming you until you stop being a resident there. How and when you stop is a question for your CPA, not a real estate agent.
